So|le [aus mhd. sul, sol = Salzbrühe zum Einlegen; daneben sale = niederdt. sale = Salzwasser], die; -, -n: wässrige Natriumchloridlsg. aus Kochsalzquellen (Solbad) oder hergestellt durch Auflösen von NaCl, z. B. zur Verwendung als Kühlmittel (Kühlsole).

Sole
 
[mittelniederdeutsch »Salzbrühe zum Einlegen«] die, -/-n, im engeren Sinn Bezeichnung für eine aus Kochsalzquellen gewonnene Natriumchloridlösung, im weiteren Sinn Bezeichnung für jede Salzlösung. Als Solesalz bezeichnet man aus Sole gewonnenes Kochsalz. Verwendung finden Lösungen technischer Salze mit einem je nach Salzgehalt gegenüber Wasser erniedrigten Gefrierpunkt als Kälteträger (Kühlsole) zwischen dem Verdampfer einer Kältemaschine und dem Kälteverbraucher.
